Are you a Power Rangers fan? Do you wish you could see your favorite Power Rangers in action again? Yeah, sure, Lionsgate and Saban are rebooting the franchise right now, but that doesn’t involve the Rangers you grew up with. What about Karan Ashley, David Fielding, David YostWalter JonesAustin St. JohnJonny Yong BoschSteve Cardenas, and Paul Schrier? What about Azim Rizik from MegaforceJason Faunt, Erin Cahill, Deborah Philips, and Daniel Southworth from Time ForceBlake Foster, Nakia Burrise, and Hilary Shepherd from Turbo, and Yoshi Sudarso from Dino Charge? Fortunately for you, these former Rangers have all teamed up again for a spy vs. spy actioner entitled The Order.

The idea for The Order was conceived on the convention circuit, which is frequented by many a former Power Ranger. In an interview with Inverse, Ashley describes the inception of the project:

“I knew I wanted something like Ocean’s Eleven, or Fast and Furious. Everyone has a skill or a moment. I was talking to Austin (St. John) and my agent and they were like, ‘You know you should talk to (Zordon actor and writer) David Fielding. You guys could collaborate.’

So I talked to him (about) this idea of a group, the shadow to the CIA and the FBI. Every one of them is an assassin, a killer, but they restore order in the world. I want good guys and bad guys. I said, ‘I want to cast all Power Ranger actors.’ He was like, ‘I’m all about this,’ and by November we had the script finished.

The Order is a private sect, these people can handle any situation. A couple go rogue and go against the Order. So the team is split and for the first time, they are fighting themselves. If you have James Bond fighting James Bond, what kind of fight would that be? It’d be pretty crazy.”

Despite already having private funding secured, the team behind The Order has set up an Indiegogo account, so that fans can get involved, not only monetarily, but by being included in the production by purchasing such gifts as meeting the cast and crew, being an extra, having a speaking role, and even becoming a full-fledged member of the production team and crew, depending on the size of the donation.

This movie looks like a done deal, with the cast and crew ready to go and a sizzle reel already having been produced. The movie will most likely appear as a web series initially, but Ashley says they’re hoping that it can find a home somewhere like Netflix, Amazon, or Hulu.

What do you think of seeing so many Rangers together again? Are you excited for The Order?
