We got the news yesterday night that Paul Bettany, the voice of Iron Man’s AI J.A.R.V.I.S., would be getting a much bigger role in The Avengers‘ sequel as The Vision. While we don’t know just how The Vision fits into all of the Age of Ultron madness, we do have a description of what his costume could possibly look like when he does show up.

Thanks to the folks over at Comic Book Therapy who got the scoop on what the current design of the costume is, it’s easy to connect the dots on just how The Vision may come to be.

It has a helmet akin to the Iron Man armor, but it’s designed more like a face than a smooth Stark helmet. The iconic yellow and green are present in the design, but it’s more metallic shades than bright ‘comic book colors.’ They said it reminds them somewhat of the T-100 from Terminator 2 but it’s not as shiny. The yellow metal “liquid” bits seem to light up. This may or may not happen since there are two designs for that section. One lights up the other doesn’t. That’s the only difference. The cape is present, but they say it appears to only “pop out” when in flight mode. The cape sports some similar shades of yellow as the body. The “neck pieces” are the same yellow but they seem to shift positions from “standing” (for lack of a better word) to “flight mode.”

With all of the references to Iron Man’s armor, and the fact that Bettany has been the voice of J.A.R.V.I.S., it seems only natural that The Vision will just be the physical form of J.A.R.V.I.S., but this has yet to be confirmed. With it being rumored a few months back that J.A.R.V.I.S. would be the entity that goes on to become Ultron in the film, and that Tony would have a hand in his creation, it seems more likely that those rumors were referring to this new addition instead.

What do you think of that costume description? Do you have any theories of your own about The Vision‘s creation in The Avengers: Age of Ultron? Let us know, and check out this awesome new The Vision/RDJ Departure theory!
