Stan Lee is pretty much a literal deity nowadays. Having created many of our favorite comic book characters he’s already a national treasure. Given that now many of his superheroes are now on the big screen en-masse, it’s is a certainty that he will have a cameo in any film based on his characters. That’s not limited to Marvel Studios films as he has also cameos in Deadpool, The Spider-Man films, the original Fantastic Four films, as well as the X-Men films. It’s almost a certainty that he will show up in a film based on Marvel characters. However, the elephant in the room is that he’s not getting any younger. The 93-year-old is finally trying to slow down in his later years as he’s stopped traveling for many conventions and is trying to take it easy. With so many upcoming Marvel films, is he going to be making his cameos anymore?

The answer, of course, is yes. Because we don’t want to work the poor man to death, Marvel Studios has come up with a way for Stan The Great to be able to film his cameos without overtaxing himself. He will be filming his cameos all at once so that he’s not overburdened. During a special screening of Captain America: Civil War, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige commented on Lee’s upcoming cameos.

“We do not shoot random ones. They’re always very specific,… A couple of months ago in Atlanta, he flew down and we shot four in one day — for four various projects. They’re all awesome! They’re all totally different. And he was unbelievable. He was on fire. He came in, he sat here, he stood there, he stood in this window, and then he went home.”

So what films are these probably for? The Phase four films probably. Currently Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War and its untitled sequel are all in some sort of development or production. So it’s probably the films that Lee filmed his cameos back to back for. He also probably completed his cameo for Doctor Strange, which is hitting theaters in November. We want Stan to remain around for a long time, but are very happy that we will still get to see him in these upcoming films.
