For fans too lazy to read a comic but have just attention to watch them move, Shout Factory has released another selection to their “Marvel Knights” animated movies/motion comics. Following the likes of Astonishing X-Men, Iron Men: Extremis, Spider-Woman: Agent of S.W.O.R.D., and Thor & Loki Blood Brothers (my favorite – absolutely brilliant telling of Loki’s pathos) Jeph Loeb (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) and Simone Bianchi‘s (Astonishing X-MenWolverine Vs. Sabretooth is the latest to get the motion graphic treatment. Watch the trailer below to get a glimpse of Marvel’s two best beasties battle it out.

Pathetic excuse for animation? Well, hey, don’t be so quick to judge. Understand that motion comics are directly adapted from their source material, and as far as the artwork, they try to keep it as intact from that source material as much as possible. That’s the intention anyway. Motion comics might not be you your thing, but it’s different way to expose yourself to titles you might have otherwise not read (it happened to me with Blood Brothers, such a good tale). With that said, Wolverine vs. Sabertooth is one of Wolverine’s weakest stories. No where near the standard in quality stories Shout Factory has adapted from.

Superstars Jeph Loeb (TV’s Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) and Simone Bianchi (Astonishing X-Men) team up for the biggest, best and, quite possibly, last battle between Wolverine and Sabretooth! These sworn foes have been locked in an endless grudge match that goes back longer than either can remember – or even imagine. The key to victory is eons old, and it’s certain to rock their world. Think you’ve seen Marvel’s fiercest go toe-to-toe before? Those were just warm-ups!
